Clay is the Co-Founder, Co-CEO, and chief patient advocate at PresenceLearning. He is also a member of the company’s board of directors. Clay leads the company’s partnership efforts, driving its commitment to ensuring the best care possible for all patients. Clay was inspired to found PresenceLearning in part by his struggle to overcome learning disabilities as a young child. His background spans consulting, successful startups, and venture capital. Clay holds a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Jack has been passionate about expanding access to high-quality specialized services from an early age. His experiences with a family member who has Autism Spectrum Disorder and as a college student teaching low-income students convinced him that our education and healthcare systems leave too many people without the services they need. Seeking a solution to this problem, Jack and Clay conceived of the idea of a telehealth platform for non-physician specialists. From serving just one little girl in Michigan who needed SLP services, PresenceLearning has expanded to deliver hundreds of thousands of telehealth sessions annually to people across the U.S. Jack focuses on overall service quality, overseeing the company’s clinical, implementation and product development functions. Prior to founding PresenceLearning, he worked at The Walt Disney Company, Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, Lumos Labs and The Boston Consulting Group. He holds a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Andrew has nearly two decades experience helping innovative organizations move from ideation to impact through operational excellence, legal expertise, government relations and public policy acumen, and partnership development. Most recently, Andrew was responsible for legal matters, regulatory compliance, government affairs and internal operations at Shuddle, a pioneer in the ridesharing-for-kids space. Previously, he was Chief of Staff at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, America’s innovation agency, overseeing a staff of over 12,000, a $3 plus billion annual budget, and agency operations and administrative support functions. He also coordinated the USPTO’s policy efforts and engagement with the innovation community around the world. Prior to his appointment by President Obama in 2013, Andrew worked as a Silicon Valley-based attorney in private practice, focusing on intellectual property litigation and strategy, as well as other commercial matters and political, election and civil rights law. Andrew graduated with honors and distinction from Stanford University and magna cum laude from Harvard Law School.
Katie joined PresenceLearning in May 2011 with more than 20 years experience as a strategic marketing leader. Katie has worked in executive and management positions with technology companies such as Apple, Macromedia, Claris and most recently, iParadigms, largely focusing on the education sector. At iParadigms, she oversaw marketing for Turnitin, the world's leading plagiarism prevention and writing improvement solution. She lead the company's expansion into a successful direct-to-student business and helped the company expand internationally as well. In addition to her corporate positions, she was president of Catalyst Consultants for over a decade where she developed marketing strategies and programs for some of the most recognized companies in media and technology, including Adobe, Cisco, Gateway, Handspring (now Palm), HP, Panasonic and PBS. Katie graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering from Cornell University and received a master's degree from Stanford University.
Christina Lawrence has an extensive background in health care information technology, business operations, process improvement, management consulting, and customer relationship management. She joined PresenceLearning in 2015 after ten years in leadership and executive positions with Kaiser Permanente, where she built consistently successful teams and delivered large scale process improvement and system upgrades to Kaiser's clinical and non-clinical workforce. Her past employers include Deloitte Consulting, where she worked with companies of all sizes on high-impact strategy, operations, and technology projects, and Intuit, where she had responsibility for the operational and systems strategies for various business lines. Christina holds a B.A from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
With a strong commitment to developing and providing high quality clinical services—established via more than 30 years experience in the healthcare industry—Steve’s extensive leadership experience guides the PresenceLearning Clinical team. A Social Worker by trade, Steve spent more than 17 years at Health Net where he served as Vice President of Clinical Operations and oversaw the effective and efficient operational management of multi-function service centers with an emphasis on execution, outcomes, continual improvement, and performance enhancement. Prior to joining PresenceLearning, Steve held a senior role at Lyra Health, where he served as Chief Clinical Operations Officer and guided the development and implementation of pilot clinical components with employers, medical groups, and health plans. Throughout his career, Steve has managed thousands of clinicians while simultaneously navigating complex local, state, and federal regulations. Steve holds a Master of Health Service Administration from USC, a Master of Social Welfare from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science from Santa Clara University. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Professional In Healthcare Quality, and is a member of both the National Association for Healthcare Quality and the National Association of Social Workers.
Ralph brings 20 years of experience in senior sales and customer success leadership roles to PresenceLearning. His experience spans larger companies such as Computer Associates to successful startups including HumanConcepts and Recurly. While at Macrovision, Ralph built a global field and inside sales organization that scaled the division to over $100M. Ralph has a passion for sales and customer advocacy, and is the co-founder and a board member of VP Sales Executive Forum, a Bay Area sales leadership networking organization. While at Message Systems, Ralph scaled the U.S. and European sales organizations and launched a Customer Success team, doubling the company’s revenue. When it comes to personal pursuits, Ralph spends time tending his flower garden; hiking with his dog, Makena; and visiting the U.S. National Parks, Hawaii, and Europe.
Jack has spent his career in client-facing roles for technology-enabled companies, running sales and customer success organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Jack focuses his energy on delighting our clients and supporting the teams that drive customer retention and growth. Prior to joining PresenceLearning, Jack headed up the enterprise solutions team for Upwork (formerly oDesk), helping small and large enterprises build and leverage teams of freelancers to support their businesses. Jack also served as Vice President of Sales and Client Services at Accolo, leading the organization through a period of hyper-growth and landing them at #42 of the Inc. 500's fastest growing company list.
Mark Mantel has nearly two decades of experience partnering with education organizations to adopt and deploy digital technologies to improve educational outcomes. Prior to joining PresenceLearning in late 2011, Mark worked for CTB McGraw-Hill, bringing their national assessment solutions to state departments of education and large urban school districts. Mark also has held positions at Renaissance Learning and NCS Pearson.
Larry brings 25 years of K-12 ed tech sales to PresenceLearning, including 21 in his prior position as a sales executive at Follett Software. Larry holds a BSBA from East Carolina University and an MBA from University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Inspired by PresenceLearning’s mission, Amy joined the company in 2016 after spending almost 8 years at Intel’s embedded software division, Wind River. She has been managing Inside Sales organizations for over 20 years. Her technology sales career began as a field sales account manager. After years in the field, she has held sales management positions overseeing lead generation, account management, and sales operations. Her prior sales management positions were in technology companies including Verisign, Mercury Interactive (now HP), and Computer Associates. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Notre Dame de Namur University.
With over a decade of highly technical engineering experience, Sandy has led the development of the PresenceLearning therapy delivery platform for the past four years. Prior to joining PresenceLearning, Sandy designed and built solutions to serve ads and to create and publish videos at VideoEgg. He also designed and implemented video surveillance and analysis technology for the U.S. Navy as well as prototype technology for the U.S. Coast Guard during his tenure at Anteon. Sandy holds a BSE degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
Cole has spent half his life working in product management, having started his first business, an ecommerce company, while still in high school. (It was acquired in 2003.) Prior to PresenceLearning, he spent four years as a product manager and Senior Director/General Manager at Gaia Interactive where he worked on web, social and mobile applications and managed the product, marketing, engineering, QA, customer service and creative teams. He also brings a personal understanding of the needs of students and clinicians, having received articulation therapy as a child. Cole holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Economics from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
