PresenceLearning’s July 9th webinar features a Q&A session about the benefits of combining online and onsite therapy delivery methods
SAN FRANCISCO, June 24, 2013 – Budget cuts and shortages of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and occupational therapists (OTs) make it even more important for districts to make the most of their special education and related services resources. To help special education leaders creatively harness existing resources and combine them with online resources, PresenceLearning, the leader in online speech therapy services for K-12 students, is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, July 9th at 1PM ET (10 AM PT). Part of the company’s summer webinar series, the one-hour webinar “Blended Models: SPED Leaders Share Their Implementation Formulas for Online Speech Therapy,” features Peggy Jadack, Director of Pupil Services at Sparta Area School District, Deirdre Shearer, Coordinator of Special Programs at Pikes Peak BOCES, and Allison G. Oxford, Ed.S., Director of Instructional Support Services at Murray County Schools.

This webinar is part of an on-going series of free webinars sponsored by PresenceLearning. The webinar series, “SPED Ahead: New Realities, New Choices – A Forum for School Leaders,” brings together thought leaders who are re-thinking the way special education services, especially speech-language pathology and other related services are delivered in the 21st century.
Since 2009, PresenceLearning’s online speech therapy services have provided schools with a practical, affordable new option for service delivery: web-based access to a nationwide network of live, highly qualified, fully licensed speech-language pathologists who are available whenever and wherever they are needed. In 2012, PresenceLearning added occupational therapy (OT) to their service offering. By partnering with PresenceLearning, school districts can fill staffing gaps related to acute and chronic SLP and OT shortages, reduce high caseloads for onsite personnel, improve student outcomes and save money. PresenceLearning also offers access to technical specialists, as well as culturally and linguistically diverse speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists.
During the 2012-13 school year, PresenceLearning will conduct more than 120,000 live online therapy sessions in public, charter and virtual school districts of all sizes nationwide.
